We are attempting to train parent leaders to use the Family Math model along with teachers. This approach has shown promise but still has difficulties . For example, many times principals report that they can't find interested parents while the parent advocate for the district tells us that principals don't ask for parent help. We plan on offering a pre-training for parents only in order to build a cadre of parents that can be tapped for the leadership training, forming a team of three along with a teacher and another parent or instructional assistant.
