The problem of interrupted instruction due to special needs students...

Issue Addressed:

The problem of interrupted instruction due to special needs students being taken from the classroom for remediation is being voiced by teachers throughout our participating school divisions. Evidently, teachers are not permitted to continue with new instructional materials while the special needs students are away for remediation. Since the students are taken out several times a day, teachers are finding it very difficult to have time for activity-based learning in which time for exploration as well as reflection is so important. Are others experiencing this problem, and if so, how are you addressing it?
