How do we inform the general public, including those who...

Issue Addressed:

How do we inform the general public, including those who don't have kids in school, what good math work is? How do we make it clear to all that the math we are teaching is not 'dumbed down' but rather 'smartened up'? How do we make it clear to all what the expectations are from our standards based curriculums?

Solution:

We hold exhibitions of good student work with some of our community partners. These include the local science museum, a local university, and public board buildings. This gives the public an opportunity to see the challenging problems included into our curriculum and to see that kids *can* do high quality, difficult work.
